Virgil W. Dean

Prue, OK ˜Virgil W. Dean,˜ 79. Prue, OK, a former Beaver resident, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at his home. ˜ He was born October 1, 1931 at Elmwood, OK, the son of Cyrus O. & Gladys M. Hoogendooron Dean. ˜ He graduated Beaver High School in 1949. Virgil was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U S Navy.˜ He was a contract pumper for many years, retiring in 1997 and moving to Sand Springs, OK. He loved working with horses and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. ˜˜ He was a member of the Church of Christ, Beaver and Sand Springs. ˜ On September 30, 1951, he married JoAnn Kirkpatrick at Forgan, OK, she died August 7, 2010. ˜˜ He is survived by one son, Terry Dean and his wife Jeri, Forgan, OK; two daughters, Patty Campbell and husband Ronnie, Sand Springs, OK; Pam Bradt, Prue, OK; one sister, Donita Eyer and husband Donald, Elmwood, OK; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. ˜˜ Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Friday at the Church of Christ, Beaver, OK, with Pastors David Glascock & Elliott Dunn presiding. ˜˜ Interment with military honors will be in the Pioneer Cemetery. ˜˜˜ Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 1-8 P.M.
