Jack Monty Cooper, 93, of Blackwell, OK passed away on Thursday March 27, 2025 in Liberal, KS.

Monty was born on a farm north of Belle Plaine, KS at his grandparents house, to John Leonard and Mary Nancy (Bishop) Cooper on August 23, 1931.

The family traveled extensively as his father worked in construction later on getting into the Oilfield. They later settled in Oxford , KS, where Monty excelled in sports. He joined the army for two years and was then on active reserve for four years. He worked for Boeing for a while and then went back into the oilfield; the love of his life.

Monty is survived by his son, Michael Emberton; two granddaughters, Amanda Cooper and Rosemary Vandeest, grandson, Dominic Cooper, nephew, Albert Cooper, and six great grandchildren..

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Rachel Cooper, three brothers, Tyrus Cooper, Homer Cooper, and Terry Cooper.

Burial will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday April 2, 2025 in the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, KS.
