Merle Leon Bridenstine, 71, of Tyrone, OK passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born on March 14, 1949 to Glen and Thelma (Wilkerson) Bridenstine at Liberal, KS. Merle was a graduate of Turpin High School; class of 1968. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Merle worked as a Truck Driver for 43 years before retiring in 2017. He also worked the family farm with his father and brother. Merle loved the outdoors; camping, fishing, and being at the lake. He also loved to ride his Harley when he was younger. He was a lifetime member of the Liberal VFW Post 3166 and also a member of the Trinity Faith Church of Liberal. Merle is survived by Six Sons, Matthew Bridenstine and wife Becky of Temple, GA, Michael Bridenstine of Tyrone, OK, Derek Bridenstine-McTurnal and husband Matt McTurnal-Bridenstine, of Choctaw, OK, Brian Bridenstine and wife Keyona of Perryton, TX, and Justin Bridenstine of Beaver, OK; One Daughter, Tammie Havens and husband Chris of Temple, GA; Stepson, Daniel Palmer and wife Heather of Hot Springs, AR; Stepdaughter, Melody Martinez and husband Manuel of Spearman, TX; Brother, Galen Bridenstine and wife Roberta of Turpin, OK; 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place. A family and friends Celebration of Life will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 20th at the Liberal, KS VFW Post 3166.
