Mei-Yi Sherer, 79, of Liberal, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at her home.

She was born on February 8, 1942 to Shenichi Shimasaki and Hsu-Ying Kao at Wu-Lai, Taiwan.

On October 8, 1963 she married John "Jack" Sherer at the Navy Chapel in Taipei, Taiwan.

In 1964 she moved to the United States with her husband Jack as he completed his service with US Army. In 1966 she and her family moved to Liberal, KS. Mei-Yi was a homemaker while raising her daughters. Mei-Yi enjoyed fishing, Bingo, going to garage sales, playing the "Buffalo" machine at the casino. She also enjoyed watching Nascar and was an amazing cook; helping her friend Jan Piper with her catering business. She was the Sales Manager at the Liberal Harley Davidson Dealership, working with her life long best friend Starley Craig for 17 years from 1991 to 2008. Mei-Yi loved all living creatures, especially her squirrels and cats. She loved her grandchildren, her daughters, their husbands, and most of all, the love of her life and husband of 58 years, Jack Sherer.

Mei-Yi is survived by her loving husband Jack, Two Daughters, Belinda Griffin of Wichita, KS, Melanie Lunceford and husband Tim of Tyrone, OK; Three Grandsons, Christopher Griffin of Wichita, KS, Tyler Griffin of Wichita, KS, and Eric Lunceford of Tyrone, OK; Two Great Grandchildren, Nicholas Gallope and Evelyn Conklin, John and Arial Conklin of Newton, KS.

She was preceded in death by her Mother, Hsu-Ying Kao, Father, Shenichi Shimasaki, In Laws, John and Frances Sherer, Son in Law, Randy Griffin.

Cremation was entrusted to Miller Mortuary.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
