Mary Myers

Mary Matilda Myers, 98, of Hugoton, KS passed away on Friday August 30, 2024 at Homestead Estates Plus in Liberal, KS.  

She was born on November 28, 1925 to Charles Christopher and Jessie (Rupert) Myers in Galena, KS.

Mary received her Bachelor Degree from Pittsburg State University. She dedicated her life to the education of children as a teacher. After retiring she moved to Winfield, KS with her sister Nellie. She enjoyed caring for nieces and nephews, traveling to visit libraries and working on genealogy. For the last 10 years she has been living under the loving care of her Great Niece Amanda Cooper and family. Mary relocated with Amanda and Tony to Southwest Kansas in 2023.

Mary is survived by her Niece, Hilda Sumner; Great Nieces, Amanda Cooper, Rosie VanDeest, and Krisa Kittelson; Great Nephews, Dominic Cooper, Elan Kittelson, Daniel Stearns, and Ryan Sumner.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Two Sisters, Nellie Myers and Dorothy Fruits, Brother, Max Myers, Brother in Law, Jack Fruits, Niece, Rachel Cooper, Niece, Gretchen Kittelson, Nephew, Danny Fruits. 

No services are scheduled as cremation has taken place.

An inurnment will take place at a later date in Oxford, KS.
