Liberal KS ˜˜ Lawrence E. "Gus" Gustason, 82, Liberal, KS, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his home. ˜˜ He was born October 9, 1929 in Stevens County, KS, the son of Edward & Bessie DeCamp Gustason. ˜ He attended school in Stevens County.˜ He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict,˜ serving in the U S Marines.˜ Following his discharge,˜ he˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ worked at Nash-Finch˜ for five years,˜ was manager of˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Sherwin-Williams Paint for fifteen years,˜ he owned and operated˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Down Town Motors until retiring in 1993. ˜ He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Liberal, KS. ˜ On November 1, 1948, he married Barbara O. Penner at Perryton, TX, she died August 3, 1981.˜ He married Christine Passmore on February 16, 1986 at Hugoton, KS, she survives. ˜ Other survivors include one son Raymond "Gus" Gustason and wife Carla , Liberal, KS; one daughter Teresa Willis and husband Robert, Goodland, KS;˜ two step-sons, Carlis Passmore and wife Lynda, Bob Passmore and wife Sandra all of Hugoton, KS; one step-daughter, Karolyn Schroeder and husband Kim R., Hugoton, KS; ten grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.˜ He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and one grandson. ˜ Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the First Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Robert Willis and Pastor Arlen Ankle presiding. ˜˜˜ interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery. ˜˜˜ Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 9 A.M.-8 P.M.
