Kennith Potter

Kennith Carl Potter, 82, of Liberal, KS passed away on Monday May 16, 2022 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

He was born on September 27, 1939 to Luther and Maxine (Still) Potter at Colcord, OK.

On October 27, 1962 he married Margaret Weaver at the Baptist Church in Larned, KS.

Kennith was a graduate of Colcord High School; class of 1957. Kennith and Margaret moved to Tyrone, OK with their children in 1982 from Cheyenne Wells, CO. In 2009 they retired to Watts, OK and returned back to Liberal, KS in 2021. He went to work as a Truck Driver in 1971; retiring in 2009. During his career as a Truck Driver he drove for COOP, Kenneth Murray Trucking, CF, and Groendyke. He was well liked amongst the other drivers and went by the CB handle of "Smiling Jack" and "KP".Kennith enjoyed many hobbies including, working on CB Radios, watching westerns, fishing & hunting, and listening to bluegrass music. He was also known for having an immaculate yard and vehicles.

Kennith is survived by his loving wife Margaret, Five Children, Daniel Potter and wife Laurie of Wichita, KS, Jeff Potter and wife Kara of Claflin, KS, Kim Potter of Liberal, KS, Mitch Potter and wife Trisha of Rowlett, and Andrew Potter of Liberal, KS; two Brothers, Tommy Potter and wife Verna of Bakersfield, CA, James Potter of Joplin, MO; 14 Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Emil and Charles Potter; one sister, Katherine French

Cremation has been entrusted to Miller Mortuary.
