J.W. "JOE" CALDWELL

Joe W. "JW" Caldwell, 88, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Beaver County Nursing Home in Beaver, OK. He was born April 10, 1926 at Dombey, OK, the son of James and Vergie (Foster) Caldwell. He married Shirley Henage August 23, 1953 at Liberal, KS. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2005. Joe was a graduate of Turpin High School, class of 1946. On May 5, 1955 he began a career with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in the Gas Industry and worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator before retiring on January 1, 1985, four months short of 30 years. Joe enjoyed farming & ranching, fishing, the OU Sooners and Family. He was a member of Turpin Masonic Lodge and theTurpin United Methodist Church. His survivors include two sons: Joe Caldwell and wife Johnna of Turpin, OK; Dee Caldwell of Piedmont, AL; four granddaughters: Shawna Stewart, Mindy James, Misti Hall, and Angela Martin; one grandson: Casey Martin; one brother: Jimmie Caldwell; two sisters: Veta Colvin and Joann Potter; 12 Great Grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son: Monte Caldwell; one brother: Dutch Caldwell; two sisters: Coeta Caldwell and Doneta Sparks. Visitation will be Friday May 2, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Saturday May 3, 2014 at the Turpin United Methodist Church with Rev. Todd Bergmann officiating. Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Turpin United Methodist Church in care of Miller Mortuary.
