Jerry Lloyd Pottroff, 70, formerly of Liberal, KS, passed away on Tuesday May 4, 2021 at Sayre, OK.
He was born on April 8, 1951 to Dr. Gerald and Leta (VanMetre) Pottroff at Liberal, KS.
Jerry grew up on that family farm where he milked the cow every morning and hooked up the wagon for all the kids to go to school. While growing up he developed a strong work ethic that he carried into adulthood. Jerry had worked as a Ranch Hand at Adams Ranch near Forgan, OK. He enjoyed watching westerns, baseball, and sharing his family photo albums with his friends. Jerry was a kind, gentle, and humble man with a strong faith in God.
Jerry is survived by his Son - Jason Allen Pottroff and partner Leme Saetang of Albuquerque, NM; Daughter - Brandie Lynn Winter of Tyrone, Oklahoma; Six Siblings- Sharon Pottroff of Norman, OK, Marlene Harber and husband Tom of Blue Springs, MO, Rhonda Wade and husband Maurice of Elk City, OK, Dallas Pottroff and partner Dr. Lisa Milch of Hot Springs, MT, Jolene Brown and husband Alan of Liberal, KS, and Debbie McSpadden and husband Galen of Midlothian, TX;2 Grandsons - Nicholas Ryan Winter of Lee's Summit, MO and Preston Chase Potter of Tyrone, OK; Granddaughter - Bailee Michelle Winter of Tyrone, OK; Great-Granddaughters - Karissa Lynn Potter and Erin Taylor Potter; 10 nieces, 5 nephews, and 41 great-nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his Parents - Dr. Gerald Lee and Leta Ruth (VanMetre) Pottroff; Grandparents - Lloyd and Jesse Pottroff, Lloyd and Hazel VanMetre; Nephew - Matthew Brian Jelosek
There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Friday May 7, 2021 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Liberal with Pastor Mark Cress and Youth Pastor Todd Brown, officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to SCCC Foundation or First Southern Baptist Church in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
