Jacque Lyn Johnson

Jacque Lyn Johnson, age 46, passed from this life on Friday, October 29, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.  She was born September 6, 1975, in Liberal, Kansas, to Kenneth G. “Kenny” and Ranita J. (Madden) Johnson.  Jacque graduated from Liberal High School in 1994. Following high school, Jacque attended college at Oklahoma State University, the University of Kansas and Seward County Community College.

Upon graduating from nursing school, Jacque found her true passion in service to others. As a hospice nurse, she was very compassionate and always prioritized creating special relationships with those she cared for. Jacque was rarely without a smile on her face and was always the first to crack a joke to get everyone in the room laughing. Her contagious smile, love for keeping things fun, loyalty and genuine sincerity were just a few of Jacque’s best qualities. She loved her family fiercely and absolutely adored her nieces and nephew. She was a devoted friend and stayed in touch with many of that she went to school with.

Jacque met her soul mate; Josh Skipper, in 2017 and they were engaged to be married. He survives, along with his daughters, Selby and Sarah. She is also survived by her mother, Ranita; her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer & Norman Stull; nieces and nephew, Madison, Makenna, and Slade Stull, all of Amarillo, Texas; and, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.  She is preceded in death by her father, Kenny Johnson; her grandparents, Robert “Bob” and Peggy Madden and Lloyd F. and Katharine Johnson; her best friend, Trey Duncan; and, close friend and cousin, Nikole Hermann Hamlin.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 6th, 2021, Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Tyler Prater presiding.  Burial will be at the Liberal Cemetery following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller Mortuary of Liberal, Kansas, with Visitation on Friday, November 5th, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, 908 N. Lincoln Avenue, Liberal, KS.
