Gene Morris Jr.

Eugene "Gene" Morris Jr., 81, of Liberal, passed away on Thursday February 6, 2025 at his home.  

He was born on November 17, 1943 to Eugene and Rosetta Morris at Anguilla, Mississippi. 

On December 13, 1991 he married Susan Hankins.

Gene was employed at Johnnie Fetch Motors and Chrysler Corner for 40 years. Gene loved fishing, drag racing, and Clint Eastwood movies. He always had a "project" car to work on.He loved his grandchildren and spent many hours playing or laying on the floor and coloring with them.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Susan, Two Sons, Eugene "EJ" Morris, III (Jennifer) of Liberal, KS, Tyrone Eugene Morris (Lisa) of Salina, KS; Five grandchildren; Ily Morris, Destan Morris, Jason Ruiz, Tahlia Morris, Tayton Morris, Sister, Doretha Barnes, Brother, Alonzo Morris; Stepdaughters; Aleisa Love, Vicky Love, Stepson Robert Love Jr., Honorary Son, Monty "Scooter" Goree; Brother-in-law Bobby Adams, many nieces, nephews and beloved friends and family.  

He was preceded in death by Father, Eugene Morris, Sr., Mother, Rosetta Morris, Mother-in-law Marge Hankins, Father-in-law Joe Hankins, Brothers; CL Morris, William Morris, Sisters; Martha Lee, Georgia, Rosie Jean, Ceatrice Ernestine, Stepsons; Danny Love, Larry Smith. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place. 

A Family & Church held Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday February 17, 2025 at Bibleway COGIC. 

The family requests Memorial Donation to be made to Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826 to assist with Gene's final expenses.
