Edwin "Tuffy" Vern Weeks

˜Satanta Kansas ˜ Edwin "Tuffy" Vern Weeks, 88, Satanta, KS, died Saturday, January 28, 2012, at Satanta District Hospital, Satanta, KS. ˜ He was born May 8, 1923 in Haskell County, KS, the son of D. G. & Vera Woodrow Weeks. ˜ He graduated high school in Garden City and attended the Garden City Community College.˜ Edwin was a lifelong resident of Haskell County,˜ farmed near Sublette and moved to Satanta in 1963 and˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ retired in 1990.˜ He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. ˜ He married Juanita E. Stucker on May 26, 1945 at Garden City, KS, she survives. ˜ In addition to his wife Juanita Weeks; he is survived by two sons, Bruce Weeks,˜ Hutchinson, KS;˜ Brad Weeks, Satanta, KS;˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ two daughters, Helen Weeks, Liberal, KS; Kathryn Mauch, Lamar, CO; three sisters, Vivian Bethel. Lakin, KS;˜ Vera Mae Knief,˜ Katy, TX;˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Juanita Hamby, Pawhuska, OK;˜ nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.˜ He was preceded in death by an infan son Donald Dea Weeks,˜ his parents, three brothers's˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Gordon, Eldon & Damon. ˜˜ Cremation has taken place,˜ a memorial service will take place at a later date. ˜˜ Miller Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
