Delesa "Lesa" Canary

Delesa Jean (Coleman) Canary, 41, of Wichita, KS passed away on Sunday May 19th, 2024 in the Harry Hynes Hospice Center at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

She was born October 23rd, 1982 to Joe Coleman and Dorothy (Green) Coleman in Plainview, TX.

On February 29th, 2012 she married Tommas Eugene Canary in Wichita,KS.

Delesa was a graduate of Liberal High School; Class of 2001. Delesa loved spending time with family but most of all her husband and children and hanging out with her friends. Her favorite things to do were playing basketball, shopping, doing fun activities, cooking, and baking for her family and going to the nail shop. Delesa worked on many different jobs while here in Liberal including Washington Elementary school, Taco Bell, etc; While living in Wichita she worked many healthcare jobs; her last job was working at the Via Christi St. Francis Hospital. 

Her faith, hope, and ability was to love & care for others she went above anyone’s average.  

Delesa is survived by her mother Dorothy Coleman and father Joe Coleman Sr. of Liberal, KS; one brother Jay Coleman and wife Katie Coleman of Liberal, KS; husband Tommas Canary of Wichita, KS; her children Tyra Larae Canary and Devon Jayce Canary of Wichita, KS; mother in law Cynthia Cooksey and husband Steve Cooksey of Wichita, KS; grandmother Doris Green of Plainview, TX; four nieces Trinity and Talayah of Atlanta, GA; Kameron and Jayda of Liberal, KS; four nephews Andre and wife Pearl of San Antonio, TX; Chauncey of San Antonio, TX; Maurice Coleman of Dalhart, TX; Maurice Bradford of Wichita, KS; four great nephews Amar’e, Lennox and Demetrius of San Antonio, TX; and Million of Wichita, KS; one great niece Key’Mani of Atlanta, GA; and a host of aunts, uncles, and extended family. 

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Blanche Caton; maternal grandfather Samual Green Sr; her brother Joe Coleman Jr; her nephew DaShawn Bradford; uncle M.T. Holman Jr and wife Eva; and close friend Crystal Yager. 

The family of Delesa Jean (Coleman) Canary would like to thank Bible Way Church of God in Christ and all of her family and friends for your generosity and support at this time. Cremation has taken place.
