Celia Faye Howard, 82, of Kismet, KS passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at her home. She was born January 15, 1937 at Liberal, KS, the daughter of Thomas and Lois (Lofland) Winkler. She married Herman W. Howard on January 14, 1978; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2010. Celia was a graduate of Liberal High School; class of 1954. After high school she attended Business School in Hutchinson, KS. She was an Evaluation Technician for Northern Natural Gas/Enron where she was one of the first women mechanics. After retiring she worked in the Church Office. Celia enjoyed shopping, studying Alternative Natural Remedies, her dog, "Patches" and was an avid Family Historian. She was a member of Red Hats, Kismet Senior Citizen's Dinner group and a life-long member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church that her father helped establish. She is survived by her Son, Brian Howard and wife Norene Smith of Cabot, AR; Daughter, Deanna Lytle and husband Joel of Arlington, TX; Brother, Rev. Virgil Winkler and wife Virginia of Dodge City, KS; Sister, Shirley Hager and husband Bill of Parma, ID; Three Grand Children, Chelsea McNeely and husband Aaron, Jean Lytle and Chet Lytle; and Four Great-Grandchildren, Jude, Oliver, Theodore, and Barrett McNeely. She was also preceded in death by her Brother, Edward Winkler and her Sister, Betty Jane Fosdick. There will be no public viewing. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Andrew Wehling officiating. Burial will follow at the Kismet Cemetery.
