Liberal KS ˜ Carolyn R. McElroy, 74, Liberal, KS, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, KS. ˜ She was born September 23, 1937˜ near Mayfield, OK, the daughter of Marion E. & Murray E. Hart Wheeler. ˜She graduated Phillips High School near Borger, TX . Moving to Liberal in 1967,˜ where she worked as a CNA at Southwest Medical Center for twenty years, retiring 1986. ˜ She married Harold O. "Mac" McElroy at Clovis, NM, he died December 15, 2005. ˜˜ She is survived by one son, Gene McElroy and wife Heather, Liberal, KS; step-daughter, Carolyn Eaves and husband Johnny, Toomsuba, MS; two brothers, James Wheel and wife Regina, Post, TX; Edward Wheeler and wife Janice, Stinnett, TX;˜ one sister, Charlotte Garlington, Rock Wall, TX;˜ two grandchildren, Meghan & Conner; two step-grandchildren Tyann & Marie. She was preceded in death by her parents,one sister Phyllis Helmer.
