Turpin OK ˜ Bonnie R. Smith, 89, Turpin, OK, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Share Medical Center, Alva, OK. ˜ She was born November 17, 1921 in Beaver County, OK. the daughter of Omer A. & Jennie M Stripe Minton. ˜ She attended Harmony School and graduated Greenough High School˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ in 1939 and attended Panhandle State University, Goodwell, OK for three years, she taught school in Beaver county at the Union & Greenough schools. ˜ Bonnie worked as a cook for the Turpin High School for nine years. She farmed with her husband for many years,˜ in the Turpin community. Her hobbies included quilting, making quilts for all of her grandchildren, gardening and square dancing. ˜˜ She was a member of the Bethel church of God, Forgan, OK. ˜˜ On˜ January 18, 1942, she married Lawrence R. Smith at Turpin, Ok, he died April 24, 1992. ˜ She is survived by two sons, Larry Smith and wife Glenda, Richmond, TX; Dr. Troy Smith and wife Elizabeth, Alva, OK; one daughter, Bonita Cox and husband Rev. Glendon, Anderson, IN;˜ seven grandchildren,Treva Madore, Tamra Wright, Deanna Certurion, Major Christopher Cox USAF, Pastor Lt 2nd Class CCPO Tiffany Smith USN, Tray Smith, Tenille Smith;˜ nine great-grandchildren,˜ Garrett & Hunter Madore, Jenna Wright,˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ Lillian,˜ Julia & Charleston Cox, Diego & Alexis Centurion, Ty Smith.˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜ She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. ˜ Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Bethel Church of God, with Rev. Stan Lehnert officiating. ˜˜ Interment will be the Restlawn Memorial Gardens. ˜˜ Friends may call at the Miller Mortuary 9 A..-8 P.M. Tuesday. ˜ The family suggests memorials be sent to the Bethel Church of God, Share Nursing Home, Share Hospice of Alva, in care of the mortuary.
